Dr. Bernhard Metz studied at Hamburg University concentrating on family law and inheritance law. He was awarded the Dr. iur for his thesis on matrimonial support law which was adopted by the German government on the introduction of a bill regarding the reformation of this field of law, which came into effect on 1 January 2008 (UÄndG 2008).
Dr. Metz has been working in the Hamburg office of Prinz Neidhardt Engelschall since 2001 and since 2005 as a lawyer admitted to the bar. He has been awarded the occupational title “certified solicitor for family law” by the bar association in 2010 and completed a course specialising in inheritance law in 2013.
Dr. Metz has experience in all aspects of family law and inheritance law as well as the associated legal fields. If necessary for the best enforcement of his clients‘ interests, he cooperates with tax consultants and lawyers from other legal fields. In cases with international relevance, Dr. Metz has a trusted international network of experienced lawyers in the field of family law.
