Manfred Engelschall studied at the Universities of Freiburg and Hamburg. From 1948 he worked as a judge in Hamburg. In 1952 he took a break from his court work and studied at the London School of Economics. In 1967 he was appointed presiding judge of the first civil chamber specialized in press law of the Hamburg Regional Court. He was appointed president of a senate at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in 1978 and Chairman of the board of complaints of the German Press Council in 1980.
From 1991 until his death in 2008 he was a senior partner of our firm.
