Prof. Dirk Dünnwald studied law and modern literature at the University of Bourgogne, Dijon (France), and at Konstanz University (Germany). After his graduation he was awarded his doctorate (Dr. iur.) in copyright law under the supervision of Prof. Manfred Rehbinder at the University of Freiburg. He also worked part-time at the “Institut für Urheber‑ und Medienrecht” in Munich. After his internship in Stuttgart (under Prof. Norbert Flechsig) and New York City (Debevoise & Plimpton), Prof. Dünnwald joined our firm in 2000. Since then he has been primarily representing commercial enterprises in all kinds of media law litigation. “Legal 500” mentions him as a recommended lawyer.
Apart from his legal work, Prof. Dünnwald has been lecturing in the culture and media management course at the “Hochschule für Musik and Theater” in Hamburg. When he was appointed honorary professor in 2011, Prof. Dünnwald took over the co-ordination of the entire „law“ sector there.
